Haircuts and Bingo to help Youth Baseball
After two treasurers in a row 'robbed' the league of more than $100,000 in recent years; parents, coaches, the business community, individuals and charitable organizations have shown incredible resolve in helping the Margate Youth Baseball League - consisting of more than 500 kids - get back on its financial feet. Thanks to their efforts, the league was able to send its teams to Texas to play in nationally recognized tournaments, leaving the kids with exciting moments to remember.
In the spirit of continued support, Margate’s oldest business, Pete’s Barbershop, will give back to the league a portion of the revenues generated by youth baseball players and their families in the month of August. Get your haircut at Pete’s and owner Steve Strouse cuts the league a check on the 31st. Short styles, long styles, buzz cuts…they do them all. Pete's Barbershop 5833 Margate Blvd. 954-972-4546
The Margate Elk’s Lodge no. 2463, which donated $4,000 to the league last month, is having a Bingo TONIGHT (Monday August 8) from 7 – 9:30 pm. The lodge is located at 5451 NW 15th Street 954- 971-9690. What better a way to give back while having fun doing it!
