We here in Margate thank and treasure the hard working guys and gals in the fire department. However, I’m a nurse and I would like a raise too but it’s not going to happen right now and we work double shifts, weekends and pick up slack as well because we are understaffed. Giving firefighters a raise at this time isn’t a fair way to resolve the issue of the budget in the city of Margate. Plus, as a single-family homeowner in the city, my taxes are high enough.
