Having a two-day street festival event instead of one topped the list for discussion at the Margate Chamber of Commerce street festival meeting last Monday.

Tentatively scheduled for February 19 & 20 of next year, the Margate Street Festival has two very successful years under its belt, drawing more than 5,000 attendees in the event’s inaugural year, and more than 7,500 last year say police estimates.
_______________

Acting on feedback from vendors who say two days would be more profitable than one, Chamber leaders will be asking Margate city officials to procure the street, namely Margate Boulevard, for a Saturday / Sunday street festival celebration, featuring family entertainment, hot rod cars, motorcycle daredevils, art, crafts, food vendors galore, live music and fun for kids of all ages.

In addition to adding more food vendors and expanding entertainment venues next year, Chamber President, John Francis, said the festival needs more crafters and is “calling all crafters” to sign up for next year’s two-day event.

The Margate Street Festival provides local businesses and non-profits an excellent opportunity to be seen and to get the word out about products and services.

Vendors from past street festivals also say they’ve made a few bucks.

Prices for booth space and sponsorship are TBA.

If you’re interested in volunteering for the Margate Street Festival Committee or are a business that would like to purchase a booth early at a discounted rate), call Jaime Milner at the Margate Chamber of Commerce at 954-582-0399.

You can also visit the Margate Chamber of Commerce at 1025 State Road #7
