Margate attracts 5,000 visitors and residents
Street Festival a major deal

Margate’s Street Festival on February 22 was a hit. The weather was gorgeous. Bands played all day and local schools and artists performed for the masses. The Harley Drill Team was like synchronized swimming on motorcycles and the classic car show was a main attraction for kids, families and gear heads. The tantalizing smell of fried chicken filled the air, as did flamebroiled ribs, burgers and ethnic delights.
Police say roughly 5,000 turned out for the Margate Chamber of Commerce event, making it a world-class affair. Local businesses got exposure and vendors reported making money and compiling leads. City commissioners ‘kudoed’ the event Wednesday night and expressed thanks to organizers at the Chamber.
The Chamber of Commerce will begin organizing next year’s Street Festival in June. Businesses interested in joining the Margate Chamber of Commerce or participating in next year's event should call Jaime Milner at the Margate Chamber of Commerce, 954-582-0399.
