Only 52% of Margate residents have mailed in their census forms vs. 54% on average for Broward County cities. Margate city officials are urging residents who have not yet mailed in their census to do so promptly, so that Margate doesn’t lose its fair share of state and federal funding based on population.
“The more people we have accounted for the more money we get,” said Margate Commissioner, Frank Talerico.
