“I’m a Killer. Remember my name,” yelled the Margate 17-year-old as he rode off laughing on his skateboard moments after violently striking another Margate teen on the head with it, hospitalizing the teen, states a March 26 Margate Police Incident Report.
_______________

The attack was over a dollar, states the report. After returning from a local convenience store where the victim borrowed a dollar from the assailant to buy cigarettes (both minors) the assailant immediately demanded his money. Although the victim said he would pay him, ten minutes passed and the assailant—upon whispering into another teen’s ear: “Do you want to see something funny?” stuck the victim on the right side of the head.

The victim was hospitalized at Plantation General Hospital where he underwent cranial surgery to relieve bleeding on the brain.

Prior to his arrest, the assailant sent a disturbing text message to one of the teen’s who witnessed the attack:

“Yo what I told you, you like dthat *h*t. I did I feel good ha hi. I was miszing my gurl real bad!!! He juz better B happy I didn’t hitem up some more, it waz nuthing personal, feel me? Yal dident expect that didyal, I was just mizen my gurl, (Name Omitted), soon 2 B (reference to becoming his wife). Real bad…” Was it a little 2 much. How hiz face looken, did I scare him? Oh and what everybody though?”

Teens witnessing the incident told police they knew the assailant and provided his address. Police arrested the assailant in his home after finding the skateboard in the bathroom.

The assailant provided police with a post Miranda statement indicating that he struck the victim preemptively because he thought the victim was going to pick a fight and that he felt threatened by the group of teens he was hanging with.

The teen assailant was charged with Aggravated Battery and transported to the BSO juvenile facility after making the statement.
