I have been living in Coconut Creek for the past 30 years. My two children grew up in Coconut Creek until they both went to college and made their own life. Thank God they turned out to be good kids.
As a parent, I was always reponsible for their behavior, education, friends, etc. Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children. Parents should set precedents for how their children should behave, check who their friends are, invite the friends home to see how they behave, check them out. What parents put into the lives of their children comes back in return as parents get older. And parents should be held responsible for the behavior of their children.
Years ago, school kids didn't take cell phones to school. Communication was available in other ways, like calling the school if you were worried about your child.
Parenting is not easy and is very tiring, but if you do it right, the consequenses will be good. If you do a sloppy job, then kids turn out bad and you've got nothing to complain about.
