Street Festival Poised for Success
The Fabulons, old cars, kids games, motorcycles

The upcoming Margate Street Festival guarantees weekend fun for everyone. A bounce house, face painting, clowns and magicians for the kids. Live bands all day, the Harley Drill Team and a classic car show, all happening at the end of Margate Blvd. between NW 58th Ave and State Rd. 7 – starting at noon on Sunday and ending at 8 pm.
This Margate Chamber of Commerce event, orchestrated by volunteers and staff within the organization, has taken some time in the making. The Street Festival plays into city plans to more frequently attract residents and visitors to Margate’s proposed downtown area by sponsoring events such as the Fall Fest, Green Market, the St. Vincent Fair and Winter Solstice, all taking place in recent months.
This year’s Street Festival promises to be one of Margate’s premier events. The weather is supposed to be fabulous and vendors will be selling comfort foods and drinks, so bring lawn chairs, hang out awhile and enjoy the entertainment.
Is there beer at the Street Festival?
Yes, lots of it. Head over to The Boulevard or Mugshots for cold draughts or see the girls at Pub 441 for mixed drinks. Everybody’ll have their own deals. I think the city is letting you walk around with it.
Is the street closed off?
Yes! No access from Margate Boulevard to State Road 7 and vice versa. Residents coming east down Margate Blvd toward the Street Festival will most likely be detoured at East River Drive. Plan on it.
And parking?
Free parking is in the old Swap Shop area and at City Hall. Beware! Chevy Chase Plaza and the Dollar Store Plaza will be used for events, so no parking there.
The Chamber still has space for vendors. If interested, contact the Margate Chamber of Commerce at 954-982-0399.
