Don't 'Eat then Fall Asleep'
Take a walk, play some Wii...do something

Falling asleep directly after eating can both impede digestion and lead to rapid weight gain, especially if iyou make it a regular habit around the holidays. Hence, its a good idea to apply some common sense to when and how much we eat and to pay attention to the benefits of exercise.
_______________
1. After eating a big meal with family and friends, go for a walk around the block or, if there's a game on, be sure to do plenty of jumping up and down, shouting -- and flail hands and arms. This will burn calories. Just watch you don't hit someone in the face.
2. Wii exercise is sweeping the country and many of you will be getting it for Christmas. It literally takes minutes to hook up. Set it up right after you unwrap it so its ready for after mealtime.
3. The weather is perfect for bicycling. Riding a couple of miles only takes 15 minutes or so and can burn hundreds of calories. This in addition to its cardiovascular benefit.
4. Don't lay down directly after eating a big meal. This can lead to indigestion and acid reflux.
5. If the kids are running around wild -- join them in a little play. This will help 'poop' you out and better prepare you for nap time.
6. Do dishes and help clean up. No one will complain that you did.
7. Walk the dog, he / she probably had some fixins' too.
Follow these seven helpful holiday 'after eating' tips and enjoy eating more. Food is fuel for the mind and body and by nature isn't designed to be stored.
